Herbs upto 120 cm high, rhizome pale-yellowish white; tubers
sessile, cylindric, many, white. Leaves 4-6, 20-60 x 8-10
cm, oblong or narrowly oblong-lanceolate, apex acuminate;
petiole shorter than blade. Inflorescence 10-18 x 6-8 cm
long spikes. Flowers yellow. Capsules ovoid, 3-gonous, thin,
