Transforming Child & Maternal Health in Goa

Goa has made history as the first Indian state to achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG-2030) for reducing child malnutrition, accomplishing this milestone five years ahead of schedule, by 2025.
Since the launch of its multi-micronutrient supplementation programme through Anganwadi Centres in 2021, all key indicators have shown transformative improvement: stunting reduced to 5.84%, wasting to 0.85%, and underweight children to just 2.18% by 2024.
Perusal of data reinforces this achievement: Stunting fell from 25.8% in 2019-20 to just 5.91% by 2024 and wasting from 19.1% to just 0.85% in the same time interval. This is a testament to the visionary leadership of the Goa Government, the dedicated efforts of the WCD Directorate Goa, and the tireless work of anganwadi workers on the ground.

Tamil Nadu

A special State Government Initiative to Address Child Malnutrition:
Pharmaveda was awarded the TNMSC contract to manufacture and supply Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) sachets under Tamil Nadu’s Uttachathai Uruthi Sei programme.
Strengthening Child Nutrition Through ICDS:
Through the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) network, Pharmaveda enabled the certified, free distribution of RUTF sachets directly to malnourished children across Tamil Nadu, ensuring that critical therapeutic nutrition reached the most vulnerable communities without barriers.
